Interview Prep

Walk into every San Antonio interview prepared, polished, and memorable.

1. Build your STAR stories

Behavioral questions are the norm. Use STAR: Situation, Task, Action, Result. Prepare 5–7 stories covering leadership, conflict, failure, teamwork, and a time you delivered under pressure.

2. Research the company

Read the company profile on AlamoCareers, check recent news, and know their mission. Ask one question that shows you did your homework: "I saw you expanded your cybersecurity team last quarter. How would this role support that growth?"

3. Master the virtual interview

Veteran tip: Practice translating one military mission into business language before the interview. It builds confidence and helps the interviewer connect your experience to the role.

4. Ask smart questions

Never say "No, I'm good." Good options: "What does success look like in 90 days?", "What is the biggest challenge the team is facing?", "How do you evaluate performance?"

5. Follow up fast

Send a thank-you email within 24 hours. Reference a specific moment from the conversation and restate your interest. Short, sincere, and typo-free.
